Can you put in 256 and 512mb of RAM on the same motherboard together?

I have

Board: ECS P4VXASD2+ 1.0
and currently I have 184 Pin 256MB DDR PC-2100 installed

Thanks in advanced.

Yes, although I would advice getting some new ram since the PC-3200 are getting cheap.

No but I'm asking can you put a 256mb RAM stick together with a 512mb RAM stick together on the same motherboard?

Of Course.

Faster memory wouldn't do him any good since his board supports PC133/100 and PC2100/1600.
If PC2700 or PC3200 is cheaper than PC2100, then by all means go ahead and buy the faster memory as it should work just fine.

yes of course
but can you but diffrent make of ram together

You can mix and match memory. The problem would be if that memory has compatibility issues with your board.

Really? Does that mean I can keep my old RAM and stick 'em in my new computer together with the new RAM? That's great!

Basically he could buy faster memory too, since it defaults to his CPU's FSBs speed. But he wouldn't get anything out of it.
