Who makes better RAM Corsair, and Kingston? I don't mean the HyperX and XMS kind either. And also, will one of those brand names be compatible with a generic 256MB DDR2700 stick?

yes, it'll be compatabile. I persoanlly like Kingston better, but I don't think you'll find many reviews of jsut plain vanilla RAM.
