Does upgrading from 1GB to 2GB of RAM make a considerable difference?

I didn't think it would, but I noticed a difference myself.

Well i have good mobo (dont ask for what mobo it is because i just dont know, its very good though), 2.2ghz cpu, Radeon X1600 and as you know 1GB RAM. Ill be getting a dual core cpu this summer along with a new video card but I have a bit of money lying around. So will 2GB make a big difference? Since I think in time everyone will need 2GB RAM

I went from 512MB to 2GB with my second build. That was a huge difference. I would imagine that doubling your RAM would have a huge effect; maybe not as much as 512MB to 2GB but big enough to notice.

Yes it does. I myself has 2 gig and is Awsome if your a gamer :)

In the future, we use random access positional enumerators

We have moved beyond the limitations of your pesky and inefficient "R-A-M"

We have also moved on to Cospatial Ordering and Computational Kinetics processing units.

So, if 2gb is noticeable over 1gb, is 4gb noticeable over 2gb? Even though nothing really has a use for 4gb.

If you have a DDR mainboard I wouldn't do it. You'll have to buy DDR2 ram again when you upgrade. I'd wait and get a new mainboard+cpu+ram this summer.

What about adding another 1gb to accompany my pathetic 512mb stick.. would it make a big difference with my 9600pro and Athlon 2800+?
