I'm in chapter 7, Highway 17, at the part where you have to go under the bridge to disable the forcefield. BUT when I open the door to actually get under the bridge the game loads, and then the screen fades to black. I can still see my health, armor, and ammo, but it is like i feel off a cliff. After a few seconds the game loads again and im back in front of the door; where i last saved the game. Can anyone explain if its a problem with the disc or what?

Did you try taking it a bit slower?
Yeah, ive tried everything I can think of. I've gone slow, backed up, jumped, crawled, went through holding something, went through shooting, used a rocket and grenade to blast my self through. Interesting fact: i placed a grenade and went through, then it exploded on me when the screen went black

Very strange bug which I've never heard of before. Being on the 360, we are kind of unable to help you fix this with the use of commands in the game console since you have no access to a console.
That kind of leaves you with 1 option, restarting that chapter or loading from an earlier save and see if anything works differently. Did any scripted sequences or events occur before this point which seemed a bit strange / out of place?
