Random Freezing in lots of games...

Hi guys, I'm hoping you could help me out...

In some games my pc just likes to throw freezing fits (lasting anywhere from 5 to 20 seconds) at random times.
This really destroys the immersion and overall fun, and I'd really like to get rid of it.
Does anyone have any suggestions ?

My specs:
Intel P4 2.4Ghz
1024Mb RAM
Geforce 4 Ti4600

If you want to know some other specifications, please tell me.

Mainboard? Temps? What Heatsink? Timings of RAM?

Sounds like a configuration issue. Defrag your harddrive? Have much space free? Free of spyware?

What games are you trying to play? What resolution (AA/AF)?

Thanks for trying to help out... Perhaps it would be easier if I uploaded a dxdiag file or something? I don't know all that stuff you want to know... :rolling:

I have alot of space free (well.. over 10 gigs at least), and I'm sure theres no spyware involved, I clean that up regularly.

I play the games in 1024x768 or 800x600, no af or aa.

Please tell me if you know of something..

Come on, somebody must have some suggestion as to what I should do?

Examples of games that do this are Prince of Persia 2 and Flat out. Both happen to be directx 9.0c, if I recall correctly..
I dunno, any takes..?
