Random Power Downs when playing

So after finally managing to get everything downloaded i get started and stuck into hl2, but for some reason now my pc randomly decides to just switch off during play. Temperature is not an issue as ive been monitoring that and i have turned my fans up. When im not playing the game my pc is fine, and am able to play other games.

Running latest nvidia drivers off the website,

My specs are

xp2200+ 512mb ddr, windows xp sp2, sb live 5.1 player
msi mobo, all drivers are latest .

Anyone else getting anything like this. any help would be great...

Is your PC shutting off or just the monitor. My monitor lost signal last night and I had to reboot the PC using the reset button to get signal back.

nah the pc goes off, fans and all. Have found there has been another update for my graphics drivers, but doubt that would cause poweroffs.

I will post back after trying them out.

How's your power supply doing?
