Ranga, a poster on these forums is no longer allowed to go to these forums or speak to anyone online unless they have met personally in real life.

So, according to his mother. I am a "thief that is in some prison on the other end of the world". Do you think that Ranga's mum(mom in America) Did the right thing? Or was she over-reactive?

hahahahaa i feel sorry for him, he was a dude, the guy with Timon in his avatar? I remeber the big turning point in his life when he got a capital 'R' at the start of his name. His mum is harsh, we're gonna miss that little guy. What exactly happened?
 
Well, I was playing HL2DM windowed, and I asked "Hey, what's new?" and he told me that he is no longer allowed to talk to people online he has never met because they might be some pedaphile or 'thief in prison on the other side of the world.' or post on these forums again. So, now, he has most likely blocked and deleted me from his MSN list and we shall never see him again... :(

That is totally not the point of this thread, Adrien. The point of it was to disscuss how over-reactive Ranga's mum was, and I already know your answer. You think she is right.

For me, I think she is partially right, I mean, it's better to be safe then sorry. I still have the chat log if you so desperatley want to read it...

Ranga's avatar was not a dog, it was the meerkat called "Timone" on the Lion King, it is Ranga, not Ragna. It is supposed to mean 'red-hair'

She was probably more concerned about the fact that I met him through the forums and since I live in the same country, she would probably think I will request me meeting up with him

We should all fly down and meet him. But seriously meeting people is 100x more dangerous than just talking to them. I really wouldn't care too mch if anyone here was a paedophile because well that really doesn't matter at all
 
I absolutely hate it when parents try to control access to a medium that they have absolutely no understanding of, My parents tried to take away the internet from me after reading ONE article in a magazine. apparently one article makes them experts, but the fact that I actually KNOW HOW TO USE A COMPUTER AND THEY DONT means nothing.

That's awful... she definately overreacted.

my mum gets worried when she sees me playing any online games.. she's like 'So, are those other people you're playing against?' and then she gets all "I'm not sure I like you doing that" when I tell her I don't know who any of them are.. and when she sees me on msn she asks who every person I'm talking to is. I have to tell her I know them all irl otherwise I get a lecture about how they're not who they say they are, and that they're probably paedophiles, etc etc.. just cause she sees these things on the news, and magazines..

But she'd never be able to take the internet away :P
 
Poor guy. Even though his mum just thinks that she's looming after him, she's way to ignorant.
 
Too late now, he came back on a while ago, he read the replies and from babyheadcrab and spud and now he is gone for good.
