Can someone please explain to me, how exactly the commands "rate" "cl_cmdrate" and "cl_updaterate" affect Counter-Strike: Source. My friend says that if my cmdrate is set too high, or any of my rates... then they affect players nearby which don't have very good computers and makes them lag. Is this true? Can someone please enlighten me and my friend, with what exactly these commands do, and how they can affect other players in the game.
