the lever only works to send you back, not to get the cart to you.
you jump in the cart after gregory sends it to you, walk closer so that he notices you and tells you to defend yourself while he sends it across.

if he isnt reacting at all, it may be a bug in which case you may need to reload that save, or reload that level.

hehe also don't bump a topic 9 minutes after you post it not everyone is available sometimes, you have to give it a tad longer than that

so what happens? you get there and he doesn't send the cart over (it moves really slowly) you have to sit and defend yourself while you wait for it to arrive.

in the screenshot you posted it looks like its a bit of the way there, yeah it moves pretty slowly and the switch will only work once you are in the cart (it sends the cart bacK)

the whole idea of that section was for you to fight off baddies while waiting for the cart.
