So ive re-installed XP, did the repair function actually and through the process i still got these messages coming up asking if i wanted to add stuff to the registry...if i clicked yes i would get some error message, if i clicked no it would just continue on to the rest, anyways it finally finished and now im encountering the same exact problems. I can't open any of the options in the control panel, can't open the registry...etc....any advice?

You probably have to reformat and reinstall windows.

[Edit]: What did the message box actually say?

Here was the process of them:

"Are you sure you want to add the information in C:\WINDOWS\regedit.exe to the registry?"

If i click YES, "Cannot impot C:\WINDOWS\regedit.exe: The specified file is not a registry script. You can only import binary registry files from within the registry editor"

If i click NO, it just all goes away.

Now if im in the control pane and try something it says this "Windows cannot find "rundll32.exe" make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again"

You might wanna try check disk. Have you tried that?? Go back to where you repaired windows in the repair console and type chkdsk. Also in repair mode you can try scanreg. I think that's the command.
