Re-programmed turrents attack me. Alex hates me T_T

The title pretty much sums up my problem. I just got to the part where you have to hold the control room with these newly "reprogrammed" turrents of alex's creation and they wont attack anything but me. I pull them out of that blue forcefield box thing and set them up, then I watch as the guards run right by them. This is sort of a mojor problem for me because I cannot hold the control room without the use of these turrents. Even when I placed the table across the doorway and hid in the stair well I was killed. Anyone else having this problem and how can I fix this?
