Re-skinning Models?

I was wondering if it is possible to re-skin the models in Hammer. Like is there a way to copy the tga or whatever file and just change some colors, say a binder... can i just copy the file, change the color then save it a some how have it set to a skin to choose from in Hammer (set skin = 4 or whatever.)

I have no idea how complex this might be just wondering if anyone has expiremented with his or not?

please link me to tutorials if you know of any.. ive looked, nothing so far..

In Hammer? Don't think so-- I think you have to do it the long complicated way. (Fragger) gives a link at the end of this post:
