Many many members are getting this person add or "appear" in their friends list and talk. It can hijack your account and get it banned, so please take caution measures.

1. HE CAN APPEAR FROM NOWHERE! Yes, you DONT have to accept the request! He appearred on my list for no apparant reason. His email is michaelpayne****@hotmail.com or something similar.

2. If he talks to you, DO NOT REPLY! Close the conversation IMMEDIATELY and delete him from your friends list RIGHT THAT SECOND. Look under Offline if you can't find him.

3. If you do talk to him, your name will become [A-K-S] W .^. R R ! O R and your account will be basically ruined. Most accounts will be banned from secure VAC servers.

4. If you do get infected, after some research, it seems that it will spread to your other friends without them accepting an authorization.

So please take extra care, and warn your friends about this. If we all know about it, then hopefully we can stop this from spreading.

Sorry if this has been posted, I can't search with the term "[A-K-S] W .^. R R ! O R".
It's all over the steampowered forums.

at the top of my friends list it says the aks warrior thing. does that mean im infected? counter-strike works how does it affect me?!

It hasn't happened to me yet... and the mods on steampowered.com are saying the banning is completely unrelated to the name changing, but we have yet to get official word from Valve.

lmao! that is total bull. when steam wasnt working something happend and evryones name was aks warrioir. Well at most of of everyones names were. Anyways it nothing harmless. Just change your name to what you had it before. And the ppl that are trying to talk to you with the same name. Its probly your REAL friends that didnt change there names from AKS Warrior. Its nothing bad guys just chill

I hope so.

Almost everyone has had that as their nickname.

Steam didn't get hacked, as much as some people want to believe it did. The unrelated auth/connection problems were fixed (and were due to a hardware/software problem, not a hacking). People are looking into the remaining (if any) Friends problems. Again, apologies for the inconvenience.

This problem with the friends network has already be looked into, until such time as you hear any different, or can supply any actual proof, then you are just spreading unfounded rumour.

Calm dudes, dont worry for rumour. :afro:

lol, what bullshit do people make just to stir up trouble. Kinda sad if you ask me :stare:

Because, you know, you can get banned from a VAC server for having someone one your friends list!

No, lol, I agree, this is a stupid rumor that has 0% truth. The truth ends at that people have W .^. R R ! O R as their name/on their Friends list.

Was this aks warrior an actual person who's name got spread accedently by valve?

Some people think VALVe got hacked. Some people think this is the first name in the friends database.

But, I don't have that name on my list, nor is my friends name "AKS WARRIOR"...

If you're experiencing these problems, my friend found a solution.

Check in Program Files\Steam\config

and there should be a file thats causing it called "userdata_9999999"

Look through them, find the Warrior guy, and delete it. The numbers will change player to player...
