Anyone go?

It was pretty good but the lineup was a little bit shit. A couple of very good performances aside there was a lot of spare time but of course it seemed everyone managed to fill that right up.

Anyways if you went who was the crowning gig?

My cousin and a few of his mates went. I've yet to hear from him about it, though.

i had no-one to go with, everyone was on holiday ;(

I wanted to go, but all my mates are into Hip Hop, Dance, RnB (basically every type of music I'm not).

I heard The Rasmus got only angry responses, got booed at after playing one song. People were throwing bottles and mud at them forcing them to leave the stage. Tough shit :/ but they're a crappy band anyway.

EDIT: Same thing happened to 50Cent I just read. Heh, wrong crowd I guess.

it was fun, 50 was not a happy bunny, p.s. go download 50 pence - P.I.N.T. the british amoung you should love it.

Where am I? I'm lost. Who the... what the... I... yeah.

EDIT: What are you talking about?

Reading Festival 2004, had such bands as the darkness, white stripes, greenday headlining and about 100 performances from various djs, rappers, bands, comedians, everything.

Very good fun.

Ah, that does sound cool. Why is it called Reading Festival though?

haha, good, I hate 50 Cent and the Rasmus, kiddie pop.

It's not reading as in reading a book. It's Reading as in (red-ding) the place.

Well, officially they're the Carling Weekend Festivals, and are held in both Leeds (the north) and Reading (the south) on the same weekend. Most of the bands play both festivals, but on different days. They're just called Reading Festival and leeds Festival to differentiate between the two.

The line up was very hit and miss, true (no Cooper or TheMusic for starters!). However I had an absolutely fantastic time being rather drunk and camping with mates from uni (in Reading, as it goes) and ting.
The music that was good was very good.

Jurassic 5 were absolutely fan-f*cking-tastic with bells on. I didn't really know them too well but Christ on a bike they were good - they interacted with the crowd fantastically well, their performance was stellar and halfway through, the J5 dj and Cut Chemist had a little scrathcifying jam that was spafftastic. At one point the J5 dude was using a small mixing deck part and two children's toys. A mate of mine and I have been arguing for quite a while whether DJs can actually be considered musicians. I say yes, and after that performance he's agreeing with me more and more. I win! God, they were superb.

Rahzel and Mike Patton were these two beat box fellas and from what I saw they were utterly incredible. Seriously and entirely jaw-droppingly wonderful. Sadly I didn't go for the whole thing, but even so... Just wow.

The Streets also were fabulous. I love Skinner and his band was great and he interacted wonderfully. He even took the little abuse that he got with a sense of humour

Soulwax were brilliant because I haven't listened to them in ages and it just reminded me how brilliant they were, and their new stuff seemed very very good. Plus their front man looks like the guy from the Grolsch ads :) Their 2ManyDJs set was dissapointingly rubbish though.

The VonBondies were great, even though I was stuck next to some poppered-up tossers.

The Libertines were damn fun, even though Peter wasn't there ;( , plus many of their fans are terribly attractive :naughty: Erm, I mean - great new songs also. REALLY great.

I've gone on too long, so to sum up: White Stripes, Ash, HarMar Superstar, Roots Manuva and more people who I forget right now.

PS - Just to get this perfectly clear: GLC are annoying and shitty. That is all.
