*WARNING* CPT STERN DO NOT READ THE BELOW TEXT *WARNING*

Just travelled 26miles to Raf Waddington and back again to pick up my kit, which i thought would be a boots, a nice beret and a coat, tshirts and a nice pair trousers...lol, was i wrong.

They have given me everything from boots, webbings, sleeping bags, mats, water bottles, cantines, little metal things to cook food in, full body armour, helmet, etc, etc, etc, all barely fitting into 3 full huge bags, which all had to be carried home on the bus :|.

Then i have to try everything on, take everything back next Wednesday to put in a nice locker ready for when training starts. I have also found out that the toughest thing i'll have to do is just a 4km march with full kit...

We morun for the lost of your ness on the forums for how long?

Good luck, how much does your combat webbing weight? Also can you interchange the location setup, like ammo at the rear instead of the side etc...?

I have no idea what your first sentence means but as for the second, i don't know, got to try it all on first and try it out. Got a nice sleeve for a big large knife as well, to run through some evil do'er :p

I meant how long will you be gone form the forums for - sorry bout the crypticness.

Some of my mates are in the AUS army cadets and he's changed his webbig set-up every time he goes out, to find the perfect set-up.

Basic training is 2 weeks, which is just to get me accustomed and then it's 1 weekend a month. Which isn't too bad at all.

You joined the marines yet then :).

I was expecting long cross country runs so i've spent the past 11 months at the gym. I smashed my personal best on the treadmill though for the 1.5mile mark, got it down to around 8:30:thumbs: - the raf requirements are 12:12.

And i'm not going to Iraq anytime soon, i've been told just over a year at the very least.

I hope you test your running times cross country rather than a treadmill.

Recently i sprinted 2 miles in just over 10 minutes.

I've decided i'm not joining the royal marines, i'm too good for them.

6 weeks? ye lazy bastards! 1½ years of compulsory military service awaits me when I finish High School :|

Yeah, it's been a couple of months since i've been proper road running but i do football and swimming. I am going to start road running again every Friday night this week and also join an athletics club on a Wednesday evening as well.

What are you're plans now, become a soldier of fortune and fight for the highest bidder?

Sorry if this is givin' life to a dead thread but...

Holy crap you guys are fit... ;(

AUS basic is 6 weeks then out do SWAT if you're in the Reserves. "Some Weekends And Tuesdays", same sort of system as the USA, i think...

Firstly, that's not a sprint, that's a jog.

Secondly, that's not an exceptional time.

Thirdly, although fun for a while, your Rambo attitude is really starting to wear thin.

And fourth, in between kicking the shit out of midgets, do you have any friends? Because you sound like you have Aspergers. I don't mean that in a harsh way toward people with the condition, but you have no social experience whatsoever.

2 Miles in 10minutes is an exceptional time, even for someone as fit as i am, secondly it is a run and not a jog, thirdly that is how Short Recoil has always been and i doubt he'll change for you.

And for whats its worth, i would trust Short Recoil more then quite a few people on this forum.

Only 'cos he could kick your ass :D

As for the 2m in just over 10:00, without meaning to sound pretentious I've done it before, although I had been in training and was fair wasted afterward. And then you have to look at cross- or track-running, so it's hard to get a picture of how fit someone is from a distance and a time.

As for the harshness, yeah, sorry bud, I've had one of those days  I just find the constant hardcoreness a bit wearing is all. Fair play to him if he really is some kindof crazy ninja though.
