Real Weapon Names and Bot Option

I'm not sure if this has been asked before but where can I get the REAL Weapon Names?

And about this bot option;
"Bots defer goals to humans"
What does that mean and do? Does it mean that they'll ignore a bomb and let a human defuse it while they cover him? It doesn't seem to do anything.

Also, the bots can be stupid on cs_havana. The fact the doors close and open in places on the map after every round, they get stuck trying to enter a closed door. :hmph:
I remember when there was only 1 bot on the CT Team(I was dead too), who was trying to rescuse the hostages, and ends up at a door he couldn't get threw. So I shut down the "server".

Alright. The weapon name can usually be found when in the buy screen.

Question 2:
Yes, that is what that means. If they see a human, they'll try and kill him/her before rescuing hostages/defusing bomb

Question 3:
I believe they fixed this with an update, but they are bots - they'll act artificial sometimes

I believe he was referring to editing the buy screen so they displayed the REAL names. i.e. AK47 instead of CV47; P90 instead of C90; etc.

I found the file to do that too. What I don't understand. What he said for Question 2. He made it sound like that my OWN teammates will actually try to kill me before going for the hostages or defusing the bomb, if it's checked.

IMO, that's stupid. :hmph:

No, I am sorry if I decieved you, but it isn't like that. It means, if the BOTS are CTs, they'll try and kill YOU before trying to defused the planted bomb. Vice Versa with the Ts.

Heres a link to a mod that does that. The great thing is since they're simple txt files, so anybody with the most limited coding experience can edit this if they ever get a different model or skin.

PS: I recommend the second one for the first is out of date, prone to incompatibilities and was created before the favorites menu.

no, they didn't have the real names in 1.5. I know this because I still play that version to this day. I think that the weapons companies dont allow the real names is because they dont need to advertise their weapons to people in a computer game because how many of you actually need/have good reason to buy a SIG 552? Exactly the only people they would be advertising to would be govenment/law enforcement officials or people in the purchasing departments of PMCs. And I dont think many of them will buy weapons based on what they see in a computer game.

Either that or valve never asked them/wanted to keep the names we're all familiar with for them.

Well, how many 13 year old kids are gonna be like "hmmmmm M4A1s pwn, im gonna get my dad to buy me one!!!one!1eleven!" If anything it would help CS sell.

I agree that not having the real names is kinda childish and annoying. But if they use actual names they'll have to make them perform at their best and it will be unbalanced. Take Swat 4 for example, they got permission from Colt and Benelli to use their trademarks but basically they made them superior to all the other "generic" weapons and it felt like an advertisement.

Actually the AK is

I dled the mod which allowed me to use all the weapons in SWAT 4 (in single player mode as well) and I found that the AK combined power and low recoil (unlike real life).
