this is a 3d/2d composite kind of thing i made from a model of hills and the structure and a picture of hat that i found the texturing on the ground was real hard ;) (vice versa)
here it is wht do u think ?
composite.jpg

delete the hat. Also, i'm a bit confused. Which part is the picture, and which oart is the modeling?

th hat is the only 3d thing and its not meant to look photo realitsic but the compositiong (lighthing etc) is suppose to look real.

Everything expect the hat looks like an actual photo not photorealistic. To me any way. Looks like that retired mil. base in washington state with all the bunkers.

The shadow from the hat looks pretty dang correct.

I'd put the hat flat on the ground/have it resting on something, it looks silly just standing up

Maybe it's suppose to be blowing in the wind :)

If it is meant to be blowing in the wind, what about some dust movement around the hat to show that?

the shadows off, i just looked at it, and i'm geussing that it's blowing in the wind, so the shadow should be lower down as it is aire born i'm geussing....

nice hat, but its too bright and too big for the scene

its not airborne its just geting blown and its kind of spining but on the ground u know wht i mean.
the hats realisticness is not whts the big deal here the texture doesnt look good its not proportioned rite either all i wanted was the shadow jeez.

Hmm, I'm not to sure how you did that, but if I didn't read the description, here's what I see:

A photograph of terrain and builting.
A 3d rendered hat on top, and I don't see why it's even there to be honest.

So, is that backdrop rendered? if so....OMFG!

Ah, yeah shadow looks sweet, ignore the above post
