Just games that you like that aren't the most well known:

Elite Beat Agents - DS
Great (and wierd as ****) rythm game. Help an ex-professional baseball player defeat a fire-breathing golem in an amusement park.

Any Advance Wars game - Gameboy Advance / DS
Along with Worms, best turn based games ever.

Earth Defense Force 2017 - 360

The epitome of awesome B-movie sci-fi action. Think Godzilla, THEM!, and Plan 9 From Outer Space rolled into one. Also big ass robots with artillery laser cannons and dinosaur mechs.

Black & White! (I assume lots of people haven't heard of it, 'cuz no one talks about it).

Trax - GB
Is a fast action shoot 'em up game with a top view camera, like the original GTA games, with a variety of weapons and levels to play with a boss battle and the end of each. Also comes with a multiplayer mode in which you can either play against a friend or 3 computer controlled bots.

A review (wow! Didn't know they had that on this game!) can be seen here.

Anyone ever hear of this one game, it's supposed to have ragdolls and everything.. The main character never talks.. It's called.. um... Half-Life 2, I think..

Seriously though...System Shock 2?

Oh, **** yeah.

Deep breath.

PSYCHONAUTS!

/EDIT Also, Grim Fandango if anyone hasn't played that yet. Awesome.

Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 for DS

and Galactic Civilizations 2 for PC

The Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth

One of the best horror games ever released IMO.

Whoa, flashback. I remember seeing that in a store when I was young and wanting to rent it. What the hell do you do in that game, out of curiosity?

It was a 4 player arena combat kinda game with quirks (you basically throw shit at each other - including other players).

First, each player picks a glove. Each glove has a special ability attached to it, some have a special curving throw while others do area of effect damage where it lands. Everybody plays on a square area and there are objects, items and weapons strewn about the area (and sometimes, depending on the level, a hazard of some kind). What makes it even more fun is you unlock more gloves in the singleplayer game by fusing gloves together and buying more.

It's just a blast for a while with 4 players. Never could track down Poy Poy 2.

Knights and Merchants for the PC

It is one of my favorite games of all time. If you like RTS games where you concentrate on building and not rushing with armies then this game is for you.

It has a complex system where you really create your own city. You build foresters to cut down trees, you build carpenters to turn the trees into wood and you build another guy that turns that into weapons. It is an in depth game that you can waste hours and not even realize you have been playing that long.

Adom :)

Edit: why won't it let me put the name all in caps like it should be? :(

I think you mean ADOM

Either way, that game is too hard and confusing.. I've never even seen another person who wasn't a barbarian with an arrow ready to kill me.. Every battle I enter, I die..

Ricochet Infinity people! Amazing fun!

I play it if I'm bored. Certainly nice to build a city and all, but the campaign makes me so bored. I prefer not to attack anyone and just build my town!

Beyond Good and Evil - Must be played to appreciate
Stubbs the Zombie - Army of zombies ftw

Play Astal, mortals, and know divine beauty.

Also grab some friends, a PS1, and play Destrega.

It's easier once you survive a few initial battles to level.

And yeah ADOM, the forum kept automatically lower-casing it on me -.-

AVP gold edition. Scariest game I ever played. But then again, I was like 13 or 12 at the time. Still, there is no enemy placement in the game. They simply come at you, and damn they're badass. This game really rocked. 6 playable singleplayer missions as Marine, Alien, or Predator. And Skirmish feature with new maps, too! :D

I dunno if alot of people know about it, but Legend of Legaia.

Monster Rancher for PS1...that game was so amazing. You create your own monsters by putting ANY 2 CD's inside the ps2 and it just randomly generates a monster from the CD's you put inside...it was a really cool concept.

Then you can train your monster, celebrate its birthday, enter it into tournaments...some real fun.

There was this other demented but sweet ass game for the DreamCast called Seaman...really weird game lol

here's a pic:

Any of the Myst series. Really good stuff if you ask me.

The first Myst is one of the best selling PC/mac games :p It's the quintessential flagship from which all adventure/exploration games have sprung from.

But yeah the sequels / spin offs didn't see the attention they deserve.

That said, Syberia deserves a spot in this thread. God bless The Adventure Company for keeping the genre alive.

Frequency/Amplitude for the PS2. Great rhythm games.
Pa Rappa The Rapper for the PS1. This might be well known but another good rhythm game nonetheless.
