I am not returning to Netgear after they upgraded my firmware for a slight stability increase and on the side utterly destroying my Messenger Live/MSN Clone connectivity. You may remember my cry for help in my last thread about that problem; I found the reason.

Upon finding out about the little mistake they pulled off, I also noticed that they aren't fixing the problem/upgrading it any further since they consider the model (FVS124G) to be at the end of its life. So... what is the best gigabyte router that a 150AUD budget can buy?

This considering the minimum of 8 ports and the wireless feature :x

**D-link

Stupid confusing parent manufacturers, Gigabit.

Linksys WRT54GL + Tomato

If you really need Gigabit Ethernet (most don't), get a switch too.

Seconded. I have this exact setup. The customization and performance is incredible.

Is Tomato able to measure and accumulate bandwith used for the separate connected IP's?

The thread title confuses and infuriates me!

Linksys and Dlink are the only ones ive bought personally and both worked fine. The netgear my roomate has us on (my dlink one isnt wireless) pretty much sucks ass.

A gouter?

What's a gouter?

A gay router? I'd be worried about my ports.
