Recommend me simple PC games

I'm looking for two in particular but I'm open to other recommendations.

One has a view like grand theft auto 1 and it was mentioned here in the forums previously. You fight waves of monsters and they drop guns, ammo, bombs and you choose particular perks.

The other is a slightly older game. It's a space shooter where the camera angle is still similar to grand theft auto 1 and you can rotate your ship 360 degrees with the mouse. You get weapon upgrades and shields like most simple shooter games and when you complete the level, it sucks you into a black hole/portal.

I found out the second game I was describing. It's called "Swarm", anyone else play this game?
