Hi, I've been playing World of Warcraft for the past five-six months; I cancelled my account just a week ago, haven't logged on since. WoW like many other MMOs is another huge time-sink, I can't believe how time I wasted on that game just trying to get more "phat lewt"... Anyway I just wanted to warn people, once you reach level 60 it's game over; I collected my class set, got an epic mount, maxed out every skill, tried Onyxia/Kazzak a dozen times and that's it. Nothing else to do. Oh and PvP is meaningless, kill dude, dude kills you, rinse & repeat.

/played time was 43 days, 21 days for L60.

I have to admit, it was great in the beginning :(

I think the people who play beyond that, play for the element of interacting with other people in a deeper role playing sense.

Oh no, well in a sense yes. I was on Argent Dawn the RP server... and role-playing usually consisted of night elves cybering in Goldshire's inn. That's about it, or maybe a few "Aye m'lad" or "Nay!" from time to time.

WoW is the best game i've played for just chilling on comms with your mates. It's so relaxed that you have time to chat, mess around, and generally talk bollox and have a laugh.

In so many ways WoW feels like a console game (it even looks like one) It's such a nice change to have a game like this on the pc - and will be fun as long as you have people to play with (which is the point of an mmo after all)

I'm not adicted, I just spend all my time playing. I could stop anytime I wanted to. Yes.

By the way, roleplaying is immensely fun if you join a decent guild! I'm a luitennant of Stormwind Militia on the Earthern Ring server, and we act out complex stories, as well behaving in the same way as real armies (lining up for briefings and debriefings, speaches from generals and Luitennants, speak when spoken to etc... To put it another way, I'm only level 11 with that character, but I've played it for about 2 days (total) ^_^

I remember a guild just like yours, but on SWG that roleplayed Stormtroopers, it was really great seeing them in action :)

I dont have any online friends
Make some. I've had tons of online friends. Mainly from Starcraft. Find a clan or something. It isn't that hard to make friends :).

I wouldn't still be playing this game if it wasn't for the social aspect; the solo thing gets boring after 20 or so levels. Join a guild, make some friends, have a laugh, run naked through stormwind and ironforge, dance with a gnome called cuddlefuzz, it's all in good fun. :p

Oh GOD that was funny... Me (Sui), Wiggz, Oldagerocker (Ugluk) and kage (patamon) ran into Stormwind naked, then ran along the tram line (we were scared of a certain rogue waiting to gank us on the tram.. god that was scary trying to escape him, it was like an invisible stalker, I thought he was waiting for me, ready to ambush... but I think he had buggered off  ).

Look at the screen where I'm screaming "F**K IT'S A GNOME" over guild chat

*edit* here it is: GNOME!!!

We're on the Bladefist server... European ;P

I'm...addic....well, lets just say I enjoy the game immensly.

I have a 56 Warrior and a 46 Rogue.

My Rogue is for PvP and Warrior PvE...

I really like WoW, and i've probably played it more then almost any other game ever (except Operation Flashpoint) but with that said....it just doesnt feel any where near as good as the first time i played KOTOR or Grim Fandango. Dont know why that is.

The Ultimate goal is to kill the leader of another race. I will not stop playing until I have stormed Iron Forge with at least 300 people and berserker everything. I find it hard to believe you have nothing to do when you reached level 60. Thats when the fun begins and you can start to make general friends with people. I have made friends at level 5 etc... but it doesn't last long because your levels get spread out and its hard to quest with each other. But I always just talk random bollox to them :P

I agree with IchI... once im 60, il be going on all the raids to the main cities and owning guards, leaders and general newbs :p

For one thing you cannot attack Ogrimar or Ironforge, you'll die at the gates if you try. The sheer number of players on defense will overwhelm you every time, not to mention the guards and the insane respawn rate. It's easier to take over smaller towns like Southshore & Tarren Mill, but it gets old really fast :|

That's why you organise large raids with other guilds. :p

Then how come a raid group of 40 people I was with broke into Ironforge, death ran to the tram, RODE to Stormwind, fought their way to the bank and held out for 10 minutes? Of course you can storm the capital cities, sure, you won't be able to do much damage at first... but if there are 100 people storming the city, you could hold it for quite a while.

And Blizzard intend players to kill the level 500+ faction leaders:

We also add a bonus to your score for participation in strategic objectives, such as conquering a Battleground or killing an enemy NPC leader, such as Thrall or King Bronzebeard. The exact number of strategic leaders has yet to be determined, but at the least, the four racial leaders for the Horde and Alliance will count as strategic objectives. For those out to kill the human leader, keep in mind that neither King Anduin nor Jaina actually qualifies as a strategic objective; it's the king's protector, Highlord Bolvar Fordragon, who is the true leader you must kill in order to gain bonus honor points for your faction.

My guild attacked Jaina Proudmoore, they did a little damage to her before she killed them. But any of the players that tried to attack the group were killed fast. An organized group against a bunch of rambos is never a fair fight.
