Opposing Source is a Half-Life 2 total conversion progressing towards the recreation of Half-Life: Opposing Force on the Source Engine. The development team wants to recreate the second installment of the award-winning series known as Half-Life, where the player takes on the role as Cpl. Adrian Shephard as he is stranded in the Black Mesa Research Facility during 'The Lambda Incident'. The rationale behind Opposing Source is to rebuild the levels, redevelop the textures and introduce new elements which will revolutionize the way Black Mesa was played.

New polycounts on the monsters, weapons, NPCs and other items will allow us to construct a living and breathing world, full of interest and physics that will drive you mad. If you feel you have the dedication and talent to help out with this modification, drop a line in these forums with some previous work. If you have any ideas, suggestions, comments or more feel free to also drop us a line. Everything is well accepted.

Is this mod working together with the Black Mesa: Source team?

Oh btw, I think you ought to ask General 1337 first 8-)

Depending on how Opposing Source develops we may collaborate with Black Mesa: Source, but it's entirely up to them really.

And i just hope you were being sarcastic with the 2nd remark! ;)

He'd have some good input i'm sure.

As Gonzo said above, we (the BM:S team) are getting the Opposing Source team on their feet. If they produce some nice stuff and the chances of a benefitial cooperation are raised, then we may collaborate.

Wouldn't it be wiser to simply merge teams, and make both games as one mod?

Not in this case no, they are both big projects.

We may collaborate materials later on, need to see them progress nicely first

Already involved with a big mod undertaking, but I'm rooting for you guys ;) I loved opposing forces in HL1.
