The gameplay looks really tits-awesome, but I'm a bit weary of open world games now. Seems to be a trend of sandbox games with really fun formulas that get old about half way through at the moment...

I was in the beta a while back and I remember it being pretty sweet.

The best moment being, getting some backpack that allowed me to charge through walls. I used it for my first time and watched as I charged straight through a wall and through 2 guys who were on the other side, while the wall itself started to collapse taking out some dude ontop of it. **** yeah.

I'll probably skip the singleplayer.

Because regardless of what game it is, if I can blow shit up as thoroughly as Red Faction 3 demonstrates it's GOTY material to me.

blowing shit up thoroughly = good.
third person view, cheesy story = not so good.the third person view is actually really shit.

Third person view helps imo. Gives better view of shit that might fall on you rather than not being able to see what's falling on you in First Person.

thats one of the plus points for 1st person, you dont have to stare at a shitty, generic space
crusader all the time. but what else is there apart from trench coats/power armour/bondage gear?

As for the 1st person thing, I'm sure that's going to be one of the first mods for it. I like my Red Faction in first person too.

In multiplayer it would be nowhere near the same if you couldn't see your character flying through walls or through PEOPLE, if it was in first person.
