I am yet to meet a fan of rock music who hasnt, in some way, been effected by the work of this band. However its fans seem to be divided in two, people who prefer its original funk/punk/ska mix and people who lean more towards the hard-hitting rock that has been present in their more recent work.

I'm not a fan of them at all. I don't hate them or anything, I just don't find them to be anything special.
I guess if I were to pick what I dislike the least it would definitely be their earlier stuff.
My girlfriend LOVES them though, everything they've ever done.

I'm a fan of rock music and I have not been affected by the work of this band, apart from negatively.

I love this band... they rule.
And their old stuff is better, i like the funky tunes, but i also love their new more experimental (in parts) and varied music, which has given them a huge popularity jump lately. I hope they come out with a new album this year. I love them.

I've gone off 'em a bit now, they're not all that - used to love them though. But I can't help but dig Flea's funky bass lines

I think I'm the only one who feels that their new stuff is quite loyal to their older stuff( by older stuff I mean sex,blood, sugar magik), just more up to date. By this I don't feel they changed to please a larger audience etc. Their still alternative, Anthony still sings deep kickass lyrics, and I can't help but love flea's funky bass lines
