I've just started playing this again. I thought I had scratched my UT2004 disc beyond repair, but it turns out it was my UT2003 disc that I had scratched, so I've started playing again.

There's a lot more maps now and some changes to the gameplay since they have the entire UT2004 source code to work with :smoking:

Danzig, gotta love how that map looks.

damn almost makes me put my 10cds in my drive 2 install :/

I also have the DVD version but I left it in germany -_- so I bough the SE here in the US for $29

RO is this shizznit only problem is lack of people that play it and finding servers.

that game looks badass, ill have to go buy ut2004, can you post some pictures of american weapons?

It's the eastern front, so there are only russians and germans :P

The hand looks so horrible. I hate playing as a Mannequin on a warpath.

RO is fun but it can get really annoying at times.

I could never get into the vehicle combat, but the infantry side of the game is decent.

Awesome game and it may go retail. Won Make Something Unreal, and they may be using a UE3 engine for the retail game.

Im not too sure, but I think they got both UT2 and UT3.
They got either UE2 or UE3. I'd say they'd have to be a pack of morons to not go with UE3, and I'm 99% positive they aren't.

I played that a long time ago, but there were only 3 active servers with low enough ping.

But russian guns are ugly, seriously who would want to go head on with NAZI's without a handy dandy Garand or BAR??? WHO?! I TELL YOU WHO?!?!?

Great game but I have been enjoying the fast-paceness of DoD Source.

They must have chosen UT2 then, because I'm sure I read somewhere that the new momentum movement was "easier to implement with access to the full source"

I wish they had chosen UE3...

Well they said this.

- With full access to the UT engine, we have been able to throw in some major rendering optimizations. This is showing an improvement of up to 40% in frame-rates on lower-end CPUs. Additionally, a number of the maps have been further optimized for improved performance.

So yea, it appears they got UE2 engine... I mean I doubt they could have the choice of either UE2 or UE3... No matter who you are, you would gladly choose UE3 over UE2, just for the fact that it will get you lots of press... So yea, I'm pretty sure they could only get UE2...

I am 100% certain that they were given the choice. I alway thought that part of the changelog was odd, because whether or not they had access to the code would not change the MOD, which is still purely based off of UT2k4.

I loves me some RO, cant wait to see what they do with that full license
