If I wanted to use Valve's biped to animate a new character, would the reference SMD need to be in the exact same position as the rest of the Valve reference SMDs or is the skinning of the model to the bones the only thing that matters? I built a model around the 3dsmax biped, which has a similar bone structure to Valve's, but it is in a slightly different position. It would be easier for me to move the skeleton rather than deform my model so I need to know if position is important in the reference SMD. Thanks.
