Ok I need a bathroom mirror, doesnt have to be like a mirror completly but something that resembles it. So I know that there are the reflective textures in hammer. (IE Reflective 80%, reflective 70%, yada yada yada). Ok but when I apply one of those textures, in game its just white and says "reflective 90%" on my mirror. How can I make a nice looking "mirror"?

I don't believe that mirrors are possible.. I could be wrong though.

i think you would have to make like a camera like they did in cs_assault and somehow make it so it can project up on the thing you want to call a mirror

how is the source engine with importing textures form max n stuff? Can you just make a raytraced material and export?

ok ok, well how do you make a screen for the camera??? like the screen that you see, like the "moniter"?

You can make a kind of mirrior using glass or metal textures.
Make a block .
Texture it with nodraw on all faces.
Texture the front with a glass texture(or metal , but glass works better).
Create an entity and place it infront of your glass sheet.
Go to properties and change the entity to env_cubemap.
Under brush faces property, click the "pick" button and using the eyedropper , click on your glass/metal sheet.
Run your map and if nothing shows , type buildcubemaps in the console.

Bear in mind this will be blurry and jagged but it will reflect geometry and static brushes.
Also you may have to play with the cubemap postion in front of your mirror as this seems to affect the images origin.
You may also try lowering the lightmap value in the texture properties , but Im not sure it does anything useful or not.

If your serious about the camera option , theres a tutorial on the hl2 world site(wikki).
Be warned though it makes what Ive written look like childs play.

snarkpit has one too, incase you want another take on putting one together
