Reformatting process.

Put these in the correct order.

1. Install windows.
2. Install sound card drivers
3. Install video card drivers.
4. Install all windows updates and service packs.
5. Install all other games and apps.
6. Install motherboard drivers.

Install all Windows updates and service packs (best to start with a SP2 CD if possible to avoid going online and getting shit like sasser)
Install video
Install sound
Install all other stuff

The order I prefer is:
Install windows
Install display drivers from disc (Cos low res sucks)
Install firewall and AV from disc
Connect to the net
Update AV then firewall, or better yet, have latest defs on a disc
Do windows updates
Do rivers by downloading latest versions

The simple reason I do it like that is that windows updates are not driver dependant, but I can't say the same for drivers being update dependant. Thats not to say that drivers are update dependant, its just that I don't know for a fact they are not.

However, most important thing is to get AV and firewall up before you even think about connecting to the internet.
