Refresh Out Of Synch

Ok i got my game working i went and selected the wrong screen resolution,
now no matter if i uninstall the game and reinstall 100 times,
It keeps trying to run it in the resolution which my monitor will not support,i can't even view the game screen its black,
Can someone help me ,
I'm about to lose my mind on this one,i've looked in the steam directory for something to edit to back down the Screen refresh rate to no luck,
I need to get the screen set to 1600 x 1200
i think i turned on wide screen something now i can't play it at all.

->right click ...
->properties....
->settings tab...
->advanced button
->then look in there. Theres a tab, i donno what it is cause i have ATI catalyst, that controls you MAX res and refresh. Just set it to whatever your monitor can max handle. nothing can override those commands. lemme know if that doesn't work
