I just added another chip of RAM (3200, 512MB), to my already existing 512 (2700, 512MB). Now for my original RAM the refresh rate is normal (15.625 us), but for the new ram it's says it's reduced (7.8 us).

Is this a problem and if it is, how do I fix it :)

no. It just means the 3200 stick will be slowed down to PC2700 speed i.e. they'll both run @ 333mhz (not one @ 400 and one @ 333) so you should have just got an additional stick of PC2700.

Oh, well the 2700 sticks were more expensive then the 3200 sticks, so I said **** it, plus no more stupid jerks every time I open up the doors in Doom3, yipee :)

heh :) wish we all had memory problems as simple as yours :(

1gb of memory. WHOO hoo!

No issues there and I'm glad you can play smoother.

Well Doom 3 does not really look kindly on RAM, basicly with 512 I was getting ~39 in the timedemo, with the 1024 I'm getting ~42 fps (this is with 1024 and high). The biggest improvement I've seen so far (and I've only tested two games :) ), is in Deus Ex two, which now runs like a dream compared to 512.

I got an extra 512mb today.

Haven't tried to play doom yet, because tbh I don't rate it that highly.

In the game @ 800 x 600 w/ gawd knows what turned on tho (specs in my sig cept it was 512mb ram, though), I was getting 30/40fps in low action areas and 15/20fps when I was fighting a beast.

Cool, I'm getting my extra 512 today, same boat as you (currently have 2700, getting a 3200 stick).

Well it terms on Doom 3 the only noticable difference is that there are no more annoying hickups, but the 1024 RAM was mainly for HL2 anyways, since that game promises some large open areas and that's where ram comes in handy (plus Stalker is also bound to be RAM hungry).
