If I modify either the player models or guns to make them pink is it considered an exploit? either way can someone tell me how to?

Most people will consider it cheating. It is however legit, and you can't be banned by VAC for them (unless using them in conjunction with wall-hacked models - steer clear of them). They're good if your monitor's gamma is screwed up, and you can't see into dark places like other players would. It's evening the field like that.
