reinstalled XP / steam?

hello,
just wanted to know if it's possible for me to install steam on my backupped STEAM folder, this way i get to keep my settings/saved games, so my question is, can in re-install steam without downloading CS / opposing force again, thanks !

CS itself is only a 40mb folder, so if you have the CS steam install just install and copy paste the opfor and cs folders. If you are only worried about settings and savegames, reinstall the whole thing because the save files can be moved around without causing problems and your settings are all in the config.cfg and autoexec.cfg files in your cs folder. There are no other important files, well except maybe custom maps or models you may have downloaded.
