I want some nice music to relax to...
So does anyone know of any good albums or tracks that have some nice relaxing music with the chinese fiddle involved?
Also want some nice relaxing stuff with the piano.

Feel free to post some of your own favourites :)
Thanks.

dunno about the chinese fiddle there mate o_0

but anything by Air is good.

Also Sigur Ros are quite relaxing imho. Explosions in The Sky. Mogwai. Thats the more ambient, post rock type of stuff though, dunno much about the dance chillout stuff if thats what you are looking for. Shaker used to bang on about Theivery Corporation alot

jimbo knows what he's talking about. :D

Explosions in the Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place
Mogwai - Mr. Beast
Sigur Ros - Takk...

Thats relax right there, in 3 albums form.

EDIT: These aren't my favourites, just the newest albums which are damned good. Well, the EITS is a fave., but the others are new and are worth checking out. Personally, my favourite Mogwai album is Happy Songs for Happy People.

Anything by Air or Moby. Some songs by NIN (La Mer, The Day The World Went Away [Quiet Version], amoung others).

Thanks for the responce guys.
I'll check some of it out :)

Nevermind the randomness of the chinese fiddle. Heard some street performers in Birmingham and found it really relaxing. If you learn of anything with chinese fiddle though, please do post :)

Loveless-My Bloody Valentine, absolutely amazing album!
Low-David Bowie-Even better

Ratatat-Ratatat.

Thank me later. The opener is quite lively, but the rest of the album is relaxed bliss.

"Music Has the Right To Children" by Boards of Canada is a pretty mellowed out album for the most part. And it's a highly reccomendable album any way.

If you want to drift further into ambience, Aphex Twin's "Selected Ambient Works", both volume 1 and 2, are pretty nice. Although the former has some more electro/acid tracks and the latter, while calm to to the point of being unconscious, can be pretty ****ing creepy.

Oh yeah, check out Between Interval too. Real spacey shit.

G-Funk, awesome chillin music. Dont get carried away because of the G, yes, it stands for Gangsta or like some people say "ghetto" but that doesnt mean its hardcore cussing rapping so...just give it a try. The Chronic by Dr.Dre has some G-funk but mostly Gangsta Rap.

"G-funk (largely derived from slowing the tempo down of funk music) incorporates multi-layered and melodic synthesizers, slow hypnotic grooves, a deep bass, background female vocals, the extensive sampling of P-funk tunes, and a high portamento sine wave keyboard lead —a feature that became the genre’s notable trademark." - Wikipedia

Oh yeah, I forgot about Sublime. Me and my freinds listened to them all last summer. Sitting in the fields, in the baking afternoon with a few beers and lots of food plus some Sublime was awesome fun.

Also, we had alot of Incubus on. Get Incubus - Aqueous Transmission. (song)

Yeh, i ahve a load of stuff by sublime... tey're awesome.
Enjoying some of this stuff you guys recommended. thanks :)

If you have Itunes you can get some quite good free ambient music podcasts from electronic periodic:-

http://www.electronicperiodic.com/index.html

They feature lots of lesser known ambient music makers, but it's all gravy (no new age BS). I've bought a couple of albums based off of some of the samplers I heard there (Manual and syntaks 'golden sun' being a strong recommendation).

Yea, I used to use iTunes, but then turned to Napster. personally, i like the flat rate for unlimited downloads.
