This is an e-mail PHL have received regarding the recent release date rumours.

We'll release Condition Zero when it's done and we'll release Half-Life 2 when it's done.

Anyhow, how would we actually deal with Condition Zero slipping dramatically? We certainly wouldn't delay HL-2. What happens if CZ slipped again? Then you'd have nothing to sell, for no good reason. All the MOD teams would be sitting around with no new engine to work on. And on and on ... If CZ were really going to slip, we'd be far more likely to postpone it until well after HL-2, and port it to Source.

I'm pointing this out not because we have this problem but so people can have enough insight into how these kind of decisions would get made so they can filter them themselves.

So, CZ isn't slipping, and even if it did, it would have no impact on the HL-2 schedule.

Bah, cz, no point, ugly and ugly....

Condition Zero is the game they should have let mod makers create themselves to be released for free. Adding single player to counter-strike just sounds like something a mod team would do, and that we'd play once, then delete it, and go back to playing a online mod. I'm just not hyped for games that are created using the same old HL engine by real companys, when a 15 year old kid by himself living with his parents can make the same thing with the HL engine as a downloadable mod for free and with near the same quality, yet overly more fun in gameplay.

I agree with Adam. CZ is a joke, I'm surprised Valve would even release such a game.

In my opinion I don't think CZ is a joke. When cs came out, players were dying to have a single player version. Only problem is, the engine is 5 years old...

Nope.

The only problem - who likes to play a "deathmatch-style" mod over and over and over and over in SP with the same bots and the same tactics? And paying money for that? Hell no!

This is just some moneymaking stuff...:dozey:

Harryz, you said it yourself, when cs CAME OUT, it was four years ago...
