Releases on Doom 3 & Half life

Sorry for mixing the two over used topics, but I'm interested in finding out how much the releases of these two games will affect your purchase. Just lock down the post if it's been asked before.

I'm looking forward to both, and halo 2...but halo 2 is in last place on my list.

Here's how I see it:

Hl2: gameplay and mods
d3: graphics graphics graphics
halo2: when I'm bored.

I'll play the first one that comes out but if D3 comes out first and HL2 comes out before I finish D3...I'll probably put D3 aside and resume when im done w/HL2 single.

I am also getting doom 3 on a preorder and getting half life 2 free because of my ati 9800xt. I am just getting sick of all the comments how half life 2 will be better then doom 3 vice versa. We won't know until we play them and hopefully they will come out around the same time which is this spring.

Why is "downloading D3 for free" not listed?
I might consider that if HL2 isn't released to pass some time.
If the reviews are really good and multiplay is fun too i'll buy it for sure ofcourse. If its worth the $$$ i'll give it to them.

Easily get both. Doom3 for singleplayer then hl2 singleplayer,multiplayer,mods.

then maybe by the time im done with hl2 mods, in 4 years or so, quake 4 will be gettin ready for release

I'll read reviews on Doom3 and get some opinions as to whether I should get it. I used to look forward to it more before we found out its story, its multiplayer, its weapons (except the soulcube), etc. It has potential but something about it is bugging me and it will come down to what the full game is like for me to decide. HL2= must buy though...

I'll probably buy Doom3 based on past experiences with previous ID games. Sure their games are not original, but they have never claimed or tried to be. They just make games that are fun to play, especially multiplayer. Thats why I'll go out and buy it when I have time.

I will buy HL2, though I may wait for the demo to make sure Valve Software isn't a one hit wonder (which I doubt).

I'll most likely get both, HL2 when it comes out, and Doom3 whenever I have the money, but I will say this....

I will absolutely get HL2 sight unseen and without listening to reviews. HL1 is my all time favorite game so I will give Valve some credit and assume they can at the very least make a game I will enjoy.

Doom3...I'm not so sure. If the reviews start to come back saying it truly is just a tech demo sort of game, with little plot and nothing else, than I may not buy it at all. I don't really have the money to be spending on a game just because it looks good. Frankly, I'm burned out on game with little else other than graphics.

Same with Stalker...if the reviews come back and they are ALL about how it looks, than I won't be spending $50-60 for that either.
