There is so much I could say about this thread.

So much.

but I'm just going to go ahead and say that there quite a few mods that have modern weaponry(aside from the fact that all weapons aside from the AR-2 and Gauss in HL2 are real but just suck pretty hard and aren't used), I can't name any specifics but if you just go to www.moddb.com or look through the Steam Store I'm sure you could find some.

thanks guys you have been great help i don`t know why all mods are about zombies and such ??!!! i got crappy computer that can`t run cod4 or bf2 but halflife2 works great on my pc .

Good thing Halflife 2 works well, there is a massive world of free mods out there.

I'd recommend browsing through this site and look for the top rated mods - http://www.planetphillip.com/

I'll ask around about the modern weaponry single player mods. In the meantime this is a good mod for HL2 (same HL2 weapons though) - http://www.planetphillip.com/posts/das-roboss-half-life-2/

One possibility is to look for new weapon models and skins and use then with other maps.

It would be kind of silly to simply change the models of the guns in HL2 to realistic modern weapons. Unless you want your M4A1 to shoot crossbow bolts.

I heard SMOD has a whole bunch of real weapons, and cool features related to using them.
