I run windows on my TFT monitors top res: 1280*1024 lovely and big...
Well CS (normal) i play on 1280*1024 cuz it can handle it.
Just because i though it would be a slow down, i automatically put CSS at 1024*768.
Tried it at 1280*1024 and i can get avr. 40fps out of it with 2x AA and all on max. But its a bit too laggy.
SOOOOO...............
I put on 124*768 and 6x AA (most ppl dont bother trying this) and i cant tell diff between that and 1280*1024 AND its lovely and smooth
BIG TIP: For ATI card users, i believe the cards rendering is in sections, eg. Texture, particle, AA, AF, models etc...
So having all on max on one and all on low on other wont make any diff compared to max n max when FPS is concerned.
(infact i get stupid fps when its all maxed compared to lower settings!)
(rig: 3ghz 1gig ram 9800pro)
So i suggest playing with your graphics a STUPID amount until you're happy with fps and quality!
I get 50lowest and 90 highest on CSS with max settings 6x AA and 8x AF and 1024*768
Its excellent
