Resident Evil 4 for PS2

Not a GC exclusive anymore .... which i'm sure will make many PS2 owners very happy.

It's almost certainly going to look and run better on the GC (Capcom themselves stated that Res 4 wouldn't work on PS2 hardware a few times) but neverhtelesss - good news \o/

Wow this is suprising, especially after the amount of times Mikami said it was exclusive to the cube and was staying that way, he even said he'd cut his head off it it went to PS2, lol.

I can't see the PS2 version maintaining the beautiful visuals of the Cube version though, textures in particular will no doubt take a hit and some of those textures are luverly.

Can't see it controlling as well either, I've got the demo and headshots need a very steady, precise aim and analogues on the PS2 just aren't good enough so they'll probably make it easier to to do headshots or something. The game is designed around the cube controller so thats the version I'll be getting and no way could I wait until the end of 2005.

Good news for PS2 only owners though and I know one of my mates will be over the moon to hear this news as he's been dead jealous since he played the demo around mine, I'd much rather see an Xbox version though as that could actually be slightly enhanced over the cube version.

i'd still rather get the gc version just because it'll look better and it was specifically designed for the gc so i'm sure the controls have been worked out, if only i had a gc and didn't have to pay for it

negatron, they have already said biohazard 4 will not be coming to ps2 because of performance issues. Biohazard is also made by the original Biohazard creators, not the creators of outbreak etc... and they are owned by nintendo I think.

I could be wrong though.

Have you seen any Res 4 previews/vids?

It looks amazing - and very different from the previous in the series.

Definately one of my most wanted games for any platform.

No seriously. Resident Evil was the first of its type (horror/puzzle) and created a fanbase from that alone (it is actually a decent game though and have good stories behind them). Silent Hill etc etc are all rip-off's. Well not so much Silent Hill because that is a good game too, im just to scared to play it (i've got SH1, 2, 3 on PS2 and 4 on PC - Never played any of them ..well i lie. I played SH4 and got upto the first monsters...dog type things then i could'nt stand the PC controls any longer)

How do you figure? Many would say they sold out by moving the series from Playstation to NGC in the first place.

Anyway, I don't like RE so I don't care. Nice graphics though.

Try not to base your judgement on the previous RE games. Resident Evil 4 is going to be nothing like those, or Silent Hill etc.

i wish they kept it more like old resident evil.

the first version of RE4 looked much cooler.

i dont really like the villagers and giant TROLL! (?) wtf
and ive seen a few movies of the gameplay i dont like it that the enemies drop money or something its just stupid it makes it feel like some dumb action game :/

ill buy it though and will problably like it, but i liked the old RE4 100000x better

I'm glad that the series is moving on now. As great as the originals were, the fighting was clunky and clumsy. Now we get far more freedom and choice - with fluid gameplay
