Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles

Front runner for mediocre game of the year.
 
Nice. Umbrella Chronicles was fun and this looks better. hotd: Overkill has raised the bar a good deal since then though.
 
A remake of 2 would be great, but these shooters are still good fun in their own right.

Seriously, am I the only one that think Claire looks hot in that outfit?
 
If the camera shoock like that in-game it'd be unplayable.

When was the last time you played a light gun game with a bunch of mates? Played Umbrella Chronicles? Overkill?

Yeah, yeah, it's not a 'thinking man's' PC game and therefore must be regurgitated rubbish for the masses and the milking of a once great IP :upstare:

I'm going to pick up Umbrella Chronicles as soon as I have the cash.
 
If you get the choice, consider Overkill. I've had a brief play and it does seem to be the better game. Both are pretty short - so rental for the win if you'll want them for single player.
 
I really enjoyed Resident Evil: Zero. It had really great atmosphere.

Thought I'd put it out there.
 
Yeah, I could never really get through 0. The train was just a shitty experience, and the way they handled the partner system and item drop made me frustrated.

I probably have the fondest memories of 3.

Seriously, what a waste of what looks to be a great graphics engine. I can't really understand how they can remake the first game several times, remake RE: Zero which is still relatively new, and churn out all these light gun shooters and not pay a thought to remaking the best selling and most well loved entry in the franchise. Do Capcom just hate money? (Don't answer that.)

Nothing against light gun shooters either, but I didn't think much of Umbrella Chronicles for some reason.
 
If they're going to remake RE2 i'd like a total overhaul for the 360/ps3. It could look almost cgi in quality.

The real daddy would be a survival horror focussed RE - limited ammo and puzzles aplenty - using the new RE5 engine. I really do like RE5 - it's the most fun co-op game around at the moment imo - but miss the lonely spooky corridors, sneaking around in the dark, and the slow dying pace punctuated with shit your pants moments that RE does so well. I love how when you finish the older RE games it feels like you've been stuck in there for ages and finally made it out.

Yeah I myself would also like a remake of RE2, and I mean an actual remake, not a "Let's take as many assets as possible from Resident Evil Outbreak games and use it to save cash" remake.
