Question, 1)
How long have you been working on this map, and what percentage would you say the map is complete?
Answer: [RnL]MikeH)
A VERY long time hehe , just ask my wife. Actually, removing all the time spent when we were developing for UT2k3, I would say 2 years. A good part of that was spent researching the history, building in the Worldcraft, and waiting on the SDK. Within that time I was able to put together an incredible amount of research material, and create a map design that would incorporate a condensed version of Sainte Mere Eglise. All the buildings you may have seen in photographs will be there. And they will be correctly placed. The percentage done is hard to put a finger on. That's because the map encompasses so many things. A good example is the para drop. That will require the entire dev team to work on. Overall, the layout of the map with geometry is about done. Then comes optimizing, adding detail, optimizing, play testing, play testing, play testing... But, I can say, surprisingly, with how huge this map is, and it is very big, the frame rates are great. So, with optimizing, it should be very smooth.
