Resistance & Liberation is a mod that prides itself on realism. When playing this accurate WW2 shooter, your screen will not be invaded by a clunky HUD or even a conventional crosshair; instead, just as traditional soldiers would have done, players rely on iron sights and a lot of luck. [br] [br] The R&L team have recently revealed, through the screenshot shown below, their logical system for customising a player character. You can take a wide variety of weapons and items into battle, but simply put, the more you carry the more you’re weighed down.
[br]

[br]There’s also been a few detailed screenshots of the R&L map ‘Ste Mere Eglise‘ released in their media section. It’s a depressing scene; European countryside and quaint cottages both tainted by war. [br] [br] To discover more about Resistance & Liberation, check out their website here.

Looking forward to this mod a great deal. WIll be very fun IMO

Never liked realistic shooters. My minimum requirement is at least a crosshair, although I will give this one a try, just to see if I might not see the light and be converted.

and a lot of luck"

Spray everywhere!

Right on!!

This looks really good. I love realistic shooters and don't think I've ever played a realistic WWII shooter.

Also remember to drop by our forums and our irc channel. #resistancemod on the Enterthegame network. See you on the battlefield!

theres gonna be a crosshair hack for that sooo fast.
Also, you can't really spray too well with a bolt action rifle...

Anyway, this'll probably be one of the few WW Mods i'll play.

Now this is something to really look forward too.
No crosshairs = heaven.
In fact it makes we wonder why I pay for dod while this team has a lot more to offer ;)

Monk.

The lack of a crosshair can be solved with this simple 3 step 1337 hack:
Step 1: Load DOD
Step 2: Resist the lure of the beauty of HDR and reach to your supply of bluetac
Step 3: Get a tiny piece of bluetac and place it in the middle of the crosshair

Congratulations, you now have a dot the middle of your screen to use as a corsshair :)

Anyway, more seriously, the screenies look good, and I'll probably give this a try. I just fear that they may concentrate so much on realism they forget about fun gameplay. But then again my faviourite shooter is Quake 3, so I don't really mind about realism like some might.

The lack of death messages sounds great. It'll make the game much more exciting and fun like the early DoD. The dark maps look good too.

HL2's answer to Red Orchestra?
Awesome.

Bah, where are the russians? :(
I'm sick of America.
*huggles RO*
But I'll be playing this.

*prays the dev will include some sort of free-aim*

Hehe, I did that a few times in CS to no-scope with the AWP :D Bluetac can be used for anything.

Why bother commenting if you're so hot for sameness in relation to HUDs & such? Don't worry yourself about one little mod that's out of your league, you'll still have a plethora of mundane mods that cater to familiarity & what's overall safe in terms of commercial viability.

Or just stick around & exploit it, you 1337 tape haXorz.

I taste metal.

The no scope thing doesn't bother me so am all for it! (Got use to it back in RO)

Amen to that...

Oh look, ANOTHER ww2 mod and ANOTHER mod that prides itself on realism. The only interesting feature looks like the equipment loadout thing but i would like to see accuracy and weapon change speed effected by how much equipment you have aswell, pad it out and give players more consequences rather than getting the equipment you want and only the equipment you like and running at lightspeed. ATM it seems just like reverse bucking bronco

Art looks fancy, but alas, ww2 means no original designs

Interesting idea. I imagine (if this works out well) that this could be one of those games that's difficult to master but very rewarding when you do. Your going to have to learn to shoot rather than just point the cross-hair & shoot. Could be really good.

It's probably already been said, but I'll say it anyway: blu-tac.

The only way to stop this is to make the guns horribly innacurate when not iron-sighting, like the AWP in CS. Realistically you could never shoot accurately without using the sights of a gun.

I'm a nub and I required a crosshair.
But other than that this game sounds like pure fun :)
However, I don't really like the whole realism aspect of FPSs. For instance - Even though Americas Army isn't ULTRA realistic, it only takes a few hits to die :( . I'm used to being able to take 7 TMP hits and only recieve 98 damage w/ full head & body armor :D

Shit man, this looks better than Brothers in Arms! I'm definately downloading this thingy.

Liez! Hardcore CS:S players can do that
J/K :p

The mod looks very nice, though. I'll definatly check this one out when it's out.

I'm looking forward to play this WWII mod, I've been waiting for such a mod for the HL2 engine. I've seen many announsed, but this is one of few that got anything to show to.

Ahh, its dark, hope I get the creepy feeling I get when I play HL1 and 2.

Sounds like a great MOD - and i like the screens alot too :)

Keep up the good work guys
