Resolution of HL2 video

I haven't tried downloading the new HL2 direct-feed videos from Steam, cause I'm not sure what resolution they are.

There was a .mov format one I found on iMesh, and it was pretty much perfect.

Just checking, so I don't download it twice..

that probably wouldn't run on my com :/ I remembered the Matrix:reloaded 1024x768 trailer, that was insanely choppy.

The one I got from iMesh was about 640x360, and also direct-feed (it should be by the looks of it). It's the whole demo too.

Why is the intelligence level of this forum so low? Ugh!

The 600mb .mov is the E3 footage (minus one of the short clips which involved flying buzzsaws called Man Hacks) recorded from a digital camcorder. It is NOT direct-feed, it is the best quality out there of the full E3 presentation but not for long.

The videos being released on Steam are bink exe files, the video is 1024x575 (widescreen) and is a direct feed, meaning it is not recorded on a video camera, it is a video of a demo played, straight from the Source engine, you can't get any better quality than these videos.

So far the beginning G-Man sequence, scene on the docks, and Alyx and Dr. Kleiner videos have been released via Steam as a direct feed, this isn't even half the videos but we are all anticipating the release of more of the videos due to their vastly superior quality over the camcorder recorded versions from E3.

Here's comparison shots from the Dr. Klieners Lab sequence, the screenshots were only cropped from their video players and were not resized or altered in any way.

They are not 1280. Whoever said that was wrong. I wish they were, but they're only 1024 or so, look at the dimensions of the screenshot of it that someone posted above....

If it was actually in 1280x res the jaggies would've been quite a bit less horrid.

Looks crude w/o AA. Atleast shakey-cam made edges softer.
