Hello...Im coming here in search of help, from a problem I have.

Basicly, I was playing half life 2, DM, and, I decided to turn up my resolution, one notch higher, to 2048X1536... and, well, it didnt work.

Game blacked out, however, I waited.. hoping it would reset if I didnt press ok.

Well, now, I can here sound, game "works" just nothing is displaying.

I was running HL2DM for a long time before I did that, so, its not really my computer...But here are system specs in case I do get asked

Intel quad core CPU...
Four GB of ram
Duel 8800 Nvida cards, linked...
about 750GB of free harddrive

...Basicly, every time I start up the game, I hear the music, etc, and if I move my mouse around, I will hear the noise when you over hover an option, I just can't reset the resolution to see!

PS: I have tried doing things, like, udner steam, "delete local content" ... That didnt help

Thanks

Well theres a way of setting your screen resolution outside the game. I cant remember exactly but heres a guess:
- Right click the game your having problems with, then go to 'Properties'
- Find a button on one of the tabs which say 'Set launch options'
- A little box should come up. In the text box type this:
-1024 -768

I think thats how to do it. Another forum member can correct me.

Xendance is basically right, but the command you need to add is "-width [pixels] -height [pixels]"

So, if you wanted 1024*768, you would add
-width 1024 -height 768
