Resolution problems

I was just playing with my resolution settings in halflife 2 and I accidently switched it to one my monitor can't support. The screen just goes black and says "out of range". I was wondering how I could switch the resolution without having to reinstall the whole damn game. I tried to just restart my comp but I guess the properties are saved automatically. I can't click on anything and the games sounds for the buttons isnt there either when the screen goes black. If any one has expierenced this or knows a solution please post back!

I remember quite a few people doing this in the Steam Powered forums aswell, they were told to add something to the launch options ...

-width 1024
-height 768

This will start it in 1024x768, however if you played it in a different resolution just change them around.

how do you type it in to launch options though do u put commas between them, slashes or what?
