Need a concept artist or two for a promising mod. I am reluctant to give out specifics at this time, though I will say it isn't a first person shooter. Please email [email protected] with example work.

Thanks for your time.

Not much point asking on these forums for an artist, don't get me wrong they are some good artists. But you will get a lot better artists on deviantart and cgtalk and other forums. All that happens these days on these forums is somone says have you got a some more info and no one even ends up joining :-/

So.. an onion simulator :)

Well, best of luck, I, like IchI recommend asking elsewhere :D

heh congrats IchI, you've just managed to insult every artist who visits this forum.

He's good at that sort of thing.

/me thinks he's smart and takes a look on .Dev.. " Secret project. Move along, nothing to see here, yet."

Damn you onions!

(17:04:48) (@onions) :D
(17:04:58) (@onions) i dont want it to be public
(17:05:06) (@onions) yet :)
(17:05:10) (@Majestic_XII) bah... thats what they all say

:)

Then I sujest he looks for artists in a different way. I think its nearly a fact that you will not get anyone to work for you on these forums without giving out info. It happens in all recruitment threads and as far as I know I havn't ever seen a post of someone saying they are actually intrested. Its always can we have more info because as onions has just done. People just don't provide it. In my opinion Pendragons correct.

Not really.... since this is only a hl2 community and they are other sites based on art them self. Most artists on this forum use other ones anyway. If they don't they should. You can learn a lot from other forums.

Pendragon, if some talented individual aproaches me about it, I'll explain in full and ask them to keep the info confidential. I just don't want my mod in the public eye. It's another one of my pet hates, every mod showing off their modellers work when modelling is only one part of modding a game. I just want to make a mod, have people enjoy playing it, and hopefully build a small community around it. The people I know well will be soon invited to help out if they so desire, but I have no need for the general public right now. Hopefully people know I can code and will join bearing that in mind, hence this is not another "have design, need team" thing. Hope that cleared things up. Positions still open, cmon artists :p

You don't need concept artists. You've got a modeller already, and a coder :p - all you need is a texture artist.

the idea was for someone to convey my ideas to the team in graphical form, not just model designs :)
But yeh, texture artists, give me a shout

How are you going to convey your ideas to the concept artist? Why can't you convey them direct to the team? :)

by having a lengthy discussion. discussing in detail with one person is easier than discussing with a team. stop picking holes! :D

Maybe you should go look for artists directly. IE, going to an art site, look at their art, and then email/pm/im them some information and invite them to the team. If they dont take, then thats fine, if they do you have an artist. Doing a vague post here in the public isnt going to help, most people dont want intent, they want information which Im sure you know.

Good Luck with your mod, and in your search for help.

I understand your desire to keep your ideas out of the public eye, but why would any concept artist be interested if they don't know anything about your mod? Doesn't seem like a very good method to recruit people to me.
