The dudes that once were Infinity Ward finally have a real 21st century website. Not much news in the gaming section except for a PR blurb and this screenshot:

I am betting the game they are making is a shooter. :) Dedicated servers are confirmed:

I, for one, am extremely excited to see what they churn out.

I will give them a chance but I'm skeptical. I didn't care that much for MW2 or MW nearly so much as COD and COD2.

I was rummaging through some stuff this week and came across a few old PC Gaming magazines from about 8 years ago. One of them was a cover story with the first preview of Half-Life 2 and a tiny side story about the arrival of a little known company called Infinity Ward, made up of developers from 2015, inc, creators of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault.

I read the interview again and what struck me as interesting, was how their goal was to make a more realistic and immersive game from AA, that focused on the true experiences of soldiers in World War Two, the player relying on his squad rather than being a single hero, the player being vulnerable and needing to use cover and tactics to a larger degree, and so on.

I then turned on my PC and watched a trailer from the latest CoD DLC pack, which involved killing zombie monkeys with a chainsaw, to the song "In the jungle".. which is fine in itself, but the transition from the old interview into the newest trailer made me chuckle.

It will be interesting to see how some of the same people start again from scratch, maybe they will learn a lesson or two from their previous experience, and keep better control of their new IP.

I like new studios, these guys are on a thread so to speak so they're forced to produce something awesome. can't wait!

They're quality devs, regardless of their latter games. They were under pressure from Activision to keep pumping out CoD games, but they've been clamouring for another creative outlet for a while. Definitely curious about what their new project is. Even if it's another shooter, they might have some kind of fresh take on it at least.

I like that they had the balls to tell Activision to **** off, so I'm inclined to like this new studio as well. I wish them many successes.

After reading more about the schism that caused them to go here I actually am a little pumped if not just because of what Krynn said. I ****ing hate Activision and I do like that some of the staff are suing the **** out of them. I also hope that with their increased freedom they'll do something a bit less "for the masses" like COD and maybe actually try to innovate a teensy bit. COD and COD2 were both extraordinary games in both SP and MP back when they first came out (and MW I guess to some extent...).

Definitely intrigued to see what their new IP is but I'm still going to be skeptical until I see some footage that shows me it's not just YET ANOTHER Call of Duty game.

Pretty much this. I loved BAR back on Nintendo 64 so it might be cool if they did another racing game similar to that (minus the punch buggies).
