Restoring Old Avatars...

Hey,
I just noticed every time you change your avatar, it saves as a new name, like mine for example, i've had 17 different avatars by now and if you save the one i have right now, it'll be named "avatar49249_17", 49249 being my member's ID.
i was thinking, is there an actual link for the avatar database, so that if you'd want to restore your old avatars, you could use?
for example, if i would want my 15th avatar, i could get it from there by going to a link, like: www.halflife2.net/blahblahblah/avatar49249_15.gif?

i think we -or at least the mods- should be able to do that, if so, a big problem for many forum members would be solved, for example, lots of members have lost their avatars after they've modified it for christmas.

Well, that would only mean more server space being taken up by avatars that are no longer in use... Kinda pointless if you ask me.

Maybe they should just save the past ONE avatar, so the problem like you described would be solved, and it wouldn't take up TOO much space on the server.

i know, but the server holds record of how many avatars you've uploaded, i think it was jnightshade's i was checking and it was his 103rd avatar...
either it's just holding record of the numbers of avatars you are uploading, or also saving the other avatars you have since past...

Also, why dont you just make a folder in your documents or something called 'avatars'. Put them all in there, and use them when you need them, rather than relying on something/ someone else. My tremendous array of avatars over the years are all on my hard drive incase theres an 'upside down' or ' negative' avatars week, festive holiday or i feel like a change. They're all there. Cmon now...stop being lazy.

But Hecky... me and Sulkydodds just started up this super awesome thing where when we quote people, we use their avatars. But if you change your avatar, ALL WILL BE LOST! ;(

umm, i do have a folder named "avatars", and it hold not only mine, but other people's cool avatars... i meant for those who are not that genius and don't have a folder named "avatars"...
oh and where is what number found? "avatar49249_17" you mean? save your own avatar, the file name is "avataryourID_number of avatars you've had till now"
