Got my final secondary school exam results today! I got 570 out of 600 points, which is enough to do almost any college course in the country (I've applied for Physics).

My results (A1 is 90%-100%. It's the best possible result):
  • English - C3
  • Irish (at a lower level to the other subjects) - B3
  • Maths - A2
  • Applied Maths - A1
  • Techincal Drawing - A1
  • Physics -A1
  • Chemistry - A1
  • French - B2

Physics? What a useless subject! There's no need for the study of physics in this world... it's an archaic pursuit.

Wait, what? We can't defy physics? We're still bound by their laws? SINCE WHEN!?

Great job by the way.

god jobb rim-boobs but ur england cood be empruved.

Woah Rimfire, that's a pretty awesome set of grades you have there. I bet you're pleased.

Nice job on the results.

I get my A-Level results tomorrow and to top it off I also have my Driving Test :|

Nice!

Good luck too Minister! Driving test on the same day though? Why, I'm going to be admiring the ceiling as it spins by 1pm!

I'm as quietly confident about my results as I dare to be! Just need ABB

I'm pretty excited about tomorrow. I've already been accepted into my Foundation Art course for a good while now, so really my Art and Product Designs results aren't going to be much of a worry to me considering all the Uni's I'm applying for (Falmouth, St. Martins and Norwich School of A&D) want, and rightly so, a primary focus towards the Foundation year, so whatever! :D

Congrats, too. :)

Are those equivalent to GCSEs or A levels?
They're the last exams that you do in secondary school. I'm not very familiar with the British system but I think that makes them the equivalent of the A levels (or is it the AS levels?).

You do GCSE's at the end of compulsory education, AS if you stay on and the A2/A level in the second year if you stay on again.

I see. For us it's Junior Cert at the end of compulsory and Leaving Cert if you stay on (which almost everyone does).

Huge, huge, huge congratulations. You must have worked hard to get those results. I remember how nervous I was when picking up my AS-Level and A-Level results.

Where are you hoping to apply?

Well played.

But there arent many jobs available from a physics degree.

You should try and get into Civil Engineering. Bugger all around at the moment, typical starting salary of 25,000GBP. Plus, you get to build big ass bridges like this...

I am away for my results so my grandmother has to open them on the day to make sure I can go to the 6th form I want to >_>

So I will end up telling you guys my grades about a week after the usual exa mthread has died :P

Is "Irish" a language class where they teach you to speak like an Irishman? :>

I heard that UCAS isn't going to update at 12am tomorrow morning, but 6:20am instead. Is this true?

I was gonna stay up and see if I'd been accepted or not!

I got my acceptance confirmation at 9am before I'd even got my actual results! Get some sleep and check in the morning.

I get my results tomorrow. But I don't need to actually pick them up if I don't want to.

I know I've done awfully.

Congratulations. I know nothing about the Irish marking scheme, but 570/600 must be pretty damn good. One question though... if these are equivalent to A-levels, how the hell did you get eight of them? At my school we study four subjects for two years at A-level, and I've heard the workload from that is horrible.

Just checked UCAS and I'm in!! :D :D :D

Off to school to get my results now, good luck everyone! :)

Just checked UCAS, my place has been confirmed! :D

That's one thing off my mind, now I must complete my damn Driving Test!!!

:D

Product Design - A
Art - A
History - A

NB I beat my 98% score at GCSE for Art, getting 100% instead! Also, I had 100% in the Product Design coursework, and an award and big shiny trophy too!

Not looking forward to my Product Design result at all.

Congrats fellas  I'm envious of all y'all, and all my mates who right now have MSN names such as YES YES L'BORO HERE I COME WOOOOO. :( Goddamn art uni's wanting Foundations...

Nothing will beat my English matura result (Polish end-of-high-school exams that determine if you get into the uni or not):

98% basic (would get 100% if I didn't forget to listen during the listening part, missed one question) and 100% advanced.

Passed my Driving Test with 6 Minors.

Managed to obtain...

History - C
Physics - B
Maths - A

Where are you hoping to apply?
I actually I didn't work that hard. I'm really lazy but I can remember anything I find interesting and obviously I like science and maths. It's unfair on people who actually have to work to get good results :P

I've already applied for Physics in Cork University. Over here you have to apply before you sit you exams (although you can change your application after it, but not after the results come out).

Is "Irish" a language class where they teach you to speak like an Irishman? :>
Irish is a language you gobshite :P
Is teanga ? Gaeilge. Is gobshite thu :P

So, uh, how are we meant to have received our results? I've not got anything through the post, nor has my friend who was on the same course. Guess I can poke around UCAS

edit: guess UCAS doesn't show results.

wtf college. No EMA bonus ("in your bank in 5 days" my ass), no results, what is this shit >_<

Aren't you meant to actually go to college to collect results? lol. I think it's tomorrow for you?

I got my first year uni results in June. They give us a grade out of 15, in the first year its just pass or fail for us, need to get 4 or above to pass.

Computer Games Design 1A: Design Documentation - 15/15
Comparative Physiology for Animatronics - 15/15
Computer Games Design 1B: Level Design - 14/15
Games Engines and Physics - 13/15
Introduction to 3d Applications - 12/15
Motion Capture - 11/15

Was really happy with these grades :)
