My retainer has plaque or whatever the hell it is all over it. I can't get rid of it, it've even tried brushing it with toothpaste. I think it might even be inside the damn thing. How do I clean it?

DIP IT IN ACID.

guess what caps lock blocker just got pwned.

Ugh, I've got the same problem. I used one of those things dentists use to scrape shit off your teeth with and that seemed to get some of it off.

I have the same problem, Though I am beginning to doubt if it's actually plaque because maybe it's part of the inner plastic showing because the outer part has scraped off... but I'm not sure.

I don't seem to have that problem very much.

Perhaps... boiling it would help? I have no idea.

It soudns like something that heppens to my plastic bowls sometimes, you leave 'em in the dishwasher, and it looks like they've got smeg all over them... I think it just is the plastic, but I have no idea what kind of plastic retainers or my bowls are made out of.

Listerine, drop em in a cup of it and swirl, then try to brush it off again

I award this the nerdiest thread I've ever come across.

Congrats OP

God I hate that... I have these green plastic bowls, and after a thorough wash they have a ring of white stuff all around the inside. Drives me nuts. I want to throw them out, but they're not my bowls. It's just plastic, but it looks kind of gross.

What does having corrective dentistry work have to do with being nerdy? It's a nerdy thing to have nice teeth? I wasn't aware...

Put it in a cup of water and add one of those denture cleaning tablets. Then brush it.

Oh man. This is one of those posts that makes me really angry. I want to explain to you how much you suck, but I can't find the words.

Come on, we all know sterotypes are evil, but when we have a sense of humour about it, it's great fun to make fun of the sterotypes.

I'm on Mr. Calhoun's side with this one, this is a great and legendary thread.

I think it earns my legendary thread, STAMP OF APPROVAL:

It wasn't that, it was the "Get a sense of humour you douche". I'm all for poking fun at people.

I've never had corrective dentistry. Never bad enough to have it on the NHS, can't afford it privately. So my teeth are the worst of my friends because they all got it. :hmph:

Yeah, damn plastic bowels.

D:

I didn't mean it. Sometimes my fingers press keys even when I don't want them too. And then sometimes they press them in he order that they want, so it says soudns instead of sounds.

Take it to your dentist.

They might put it in this machine that uses vibrational waves to clean it with tiny scrubbing bubbles of air. Also good for cleaning collector's coins. Also good for cleaning nuts and bolts and various Swagelok fittings.

:o

Ultrasound machine?

Isn't that what they're called?

Only I know there's probably multiple types, but this ultrasound machine uses vibrating water or something.

I thought they used those to look at babies inside mothers.
