Over at the BlueWolf72 Network, BlueWolf72 has conducted an interview with the creators of Return to Mana: Legacy of the Eight Elements. The questions vary from topics such as what exactly is this game about to how will it play and what is the style like?
BlueWolf72: How will the combat system itself be handled in the game?[br]Return to Mana: The combat system will be melee combat (third person), learning combos -> resulting in finish moves. Secondary using 2 types of magic: Aimed magic (think of throwing a fireball) and surround magic (eg. freezing everything around you).
Need some more questions answered? The whole interview can be read at BlueWolf72.com. Of course, even more answers can be found at Return to Mana’s official site located here. [br]

Man that's awesome. I totally forgot I was in the middle of Secret of Mana on ZSNES.

The screenshots are looking pretty sweet but I gotta say the hero, or Cyrus as the pic name suggests what he is called (blech), he's kinda ugly. :/

its going to be interesting seeing this mod in action because of the uniqueness it offers...or so the interviews says so.

a 2008 release date? :O
hmm...question is whether people will even remember this mod...oh well, all good things get attention in the long run i suppose.

Day of defeat was a rather late entry mod. It still did amazingly well.

In the interview, they said that they love Valve and hate Epic. Why the hatred?

No idea, sounds a bit weird, I rather like both Valve and Epic.

true...but what you also need to keep in mind was how Valve eventually got behind the Day of Defeat mod...that only added to the popularity/hype of the mod..

im not saying RTM will need Valve's support for that kind of popularity...but they will need a very good in-game experience to attract players who probably will have forgotten this mod by 2008 or whatever year they listed in the interview.

i think that he's not english speaking as a primary language. its like that ramsteiin son "du has" or what ever, in english its " you, you hate, you hate me"

sounds stupid as hell in english, but cool in german. I need to put on the lollerskates to listen to that song

<pedant> Actually it's "Du hast", it means "you, you have, you have me". Hate is hass, it sounds similar.

sauce </pedant>

Perhaps they're talking about moddability of UT2k4 vs HL2 and they mean they preferred HL2?

I'd rather they made some really small tech-demo type thing first. What happened to mods that got released early, then got patched to greatness later on? At least we'd have something to play while we waited for the full game.
